Dogs have been my friends since my early childhood. I grew up on a small farm and we have always had one or two dogs.
I got more seriously involved with dogs when my wife Maja and I bought our first dog together in 1993 and we started going to shows. Our first champion was the Australian Silky Terrier Ch Darsa's Robin Hood. We have always liked different breeds. We became very active in showing, breeding and serving in different dog clubs so dogs quickly became our main hobby and occupied almost all our spare time.
I registered the affix MyLegend. In the past I was breeding Samoyeds and Australian Silky Terriers. Now I devoted my time only to terriers so I started breeding Scottish Terriers and I also have a young Kerry Blue Terrier.
Together with my wife Maja, who registered her own affix Moetica, we have won more than 50 junior, national and international championships with our dogs and also an European Junior Championship. We have bred many champions and also a European Champion and two European Junior Champions. Dogs from our breeding are successful in agility and obedience as well, one qualified also as a search and rescue dog and one is a real movie star, acting in Disney's movie Shaggy Dog. Our aim is to breed typical and healthy dogs with good temperament. Although we like showing, we wish to provide loving homes for our puppies where they will live like real family members.
Dogs bred by us live in Austria, Italy, Hungary, Croatia, Germany, Switzerland, Czechia, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, USA and South Korea.
I have an university degree in electrical engineering. I work as a teacher of
computer science. I live in the little idyllic village
Kocno on Pohorje mountain
near
Maribor together with my wife Maja and our three children Masa, Matjaz and Gregor.
I am an active member of Tourist Society Kocno and our village was awarded as
the most beautiful village in
Slovenia in 2006.
Till the nineties I was very active in beekeeping, working with the bees as well as serving at the Beekeeping Association of Slovenia. But now unfortunately I don't have enough time for this peaceful hobby anymore.
I am a show judge for FCI groups III and V.
I am a member of 4 dog clubs. I have been a show committee member of
national and international shows in Maribor for several years, serving also as a
show chairman and show secretary. I also served in the Statutory Commission of
Slovenian Kennel Club as a president. I am a member of the Breeding Commission
for Spitz and Primitive types of Klub 5.
I was awarded with Silver and Golden Order by Slovenian Kennel Club.
We keep a limited number of dogs at our home so they can live like real family members. We have several dogs in co-ownerships living with other families.
The last few years I could spend less time than I wished on our doggy activities due to our three small children, aged 0 - 5 years.
